Mini Countryman WRC (wip 2)

So here's the final part of the wip. There were a few problems as I got towards the end which slightly annoyed me, especially as they weren't my fault.
Everything was fine until I reached the car casing, painting the main body in Red the paint didn't want to cover properly(like I mentioned in the previous post about the gloss white).

After a few coats it just wasn't looking right. After reading a few people online complain about the Humbrol gloss paints doing exactly as it had done for me I went out and bought some equivalent colours(Red and White gloss) made by Revell. A couple of coats and it looked better, not perfect but better than it was.
The next major gripe were the windows, none of them fit properly, the side windows which were made all as one needed to be cut in two so they would fit, even then it wasn't a perfect fit.

Putting the decals on was yet another problem. Most went on fine but there were a few that just weren't right. There are decals that go around the edge of both the front and rear windows, also a decal to go around each of the headlights. Yes, they didn't fit properly either, they were slightly too big and I just had to do my best to make them look right.

Finally when all was done I came to fit the casing onto the car, guess what? Yep it wouldn't fit!
First I thought the roll cage was stopping the casing from closing fully. So i had to rip the roll cage off and I trimmed off the small legs it had. Still didn't fit!!!
Driving me mad I now realise that where the front window hasnt fit properly its hitting the dashboard on the car, so I have to trim off the bottom of the windscreen with a knife, finally allowing me to get the casing on enough.

Wheels, Discs and Seat Belts ready to go in

The casing nearly all painted, with a few littles added touches like the Silver door handles and the bonnet and rear hatch pins also in Silver.

Interior door cards, wing mirrors, windows, rear spoiler, roof vent and aerial ready to go on.

Headlights painted, Bonnet vents and front Grilles in place, Wing mirrors on.

 All windows fitted

 Decals and last pieces added
